Twelfth Night Coronation - Kingdom of the West (Concord, CA)

Site Information: Hilton Concord Hotel, 1970 Diamond Blvd, Concord, CA, 94520-5718; 925-827-2000. Tell them you are with the SCA to make reservations as we need to fill the room block (for a huge discount). Only alcohol purchased from the Hotel bars may be brought into the public rooms. There is a bar in the Lobby and in the restaurant. For your convenience, an extra bar will be set up from 6:00 p.m. until midnight near the feast hall. Please clean up your feast area when you are done.

12th Night Wooden Spoon Competition: Saint Sebastian (died c. 288) was a captain of the Praetorian Guard under Roman Emperor, Diocletian. Upon finding out that Sebastian was a Christian, Diocletian ordered him bound to a stake. "And the archers shot at him till he was as full o f arrows as an urchin," as described in the Golden Legend likely compiled around the year 1260. He is sometimes known as the saint who was martyred twice, because he recovered from his arrow wounds only to be beheaded later by Diocletian. St. Sebastian is a patron saint of pin makers, archers, and soldiers. Competition: Make a dish that can be skewered.

Site fee: $15 adults, $10 for ages 13-17, under 13 are free. Family cap of $40. NMS fee: $5. Make checks payable to "SCA, Inc. – Kingdom of the West". The non-member surcharge will be assessed at gate if applicable. Tickets will be available by ACCEPS , for sale at some events, or by mail. Please make checks payable to "SCA-Kingdom of the West" and include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
