The smell of bacon (seige cooking on Saturday!!)...the sounds of war (Saturday!!!)...the prize tournament (Sunday morning!!!)...what more could you possibly want for a weekend?! The battlefield is large, the lake is swimmable (fishing permitted with license) and if you get there early enough there's some shade. Sunday, His Highness, Jost, has declared that there will be a prize tourney held, open to fighters of all rank and styleThere will be a $5 (minimum) entry fee, with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project of California. Prizes will be posted when His Highness returns from Pennsic. If you are interested in the seige cooking, contact the Autocrat no later than September 10th.

From Placerville ,Ca, on Calif. Highway 50 Take Highway 49 North (Spring St.) for 0.2 mile following 49 left on Coloma St. for 0.6 mile and turn right on CA 193. This goes down for 3 miles to cross the American River at Chilli Bar, than up one half mile to a right turn on Rock Creek Rd. After the river crossing the slopes are relatively mild. Follow Rock Creek Rd. for 8.8 miles (a scenic winding canyon drive) and flow onto Trail Gulch Rd. to Finnon Lake Reservoir. Cross the earthen dam and the S.C.A. camp site is at the east end of the park.
