Art and knowledge build on themselves. They are not built in isolation or in a vacuum. We learn much more and are made better by the companionship of others in the same pursuit. Many arts themselves work in concert with others-- the woodworker and the blacksmith, the spinners and the weavers, the calligraphers and the bookbinders.
In the West, we are blessed with many great scholars and artisans. To further that comradship, it is with great pleasure that we, Maestra Donata Bonacorsi, Master Vyncent ate Wodegate, Maestra Vittoria Aureli and Signora Veronica da Lugano, announce the creation of the new West Kingdom Artisans Social Network. It is free to join and open to all.
This is a great opportunity for the Kingdom artisans to come together and learn from one another. For those that live in the outer reaches of our fair kingdom, this could enable them to have their own space to show pictures of their work, ask questions, and answer others. For those in what is called "Central Kingdom," this could allow people that play in neighboring Provinces, Shires and Baronies to learn what other groups are doing on the social calendar. The populace can check out what everyone else is doing, including Queens Artisans. Laurels, apprentices and interested artisans, all of whom can create their own pages, creating a virtual museum, and learn from both established and up-and-coming artists. It can be used as both an adjunct to yahoo groups that already exist or work instead of them as the particular group's monitor so chooses, so we don't have to re-invent any light bulbs here.
I am looking for monitors of the individual groups and the calendar (I see no reason to try to do this all myself) and anyone interested in just participating or creating their own page within the network. Please check out the site for yourselves and tell me what you think.
