Kingdom of the West Kingdom Officer's Meeting

Greetings to the Populace of the Kingdom of the West.  All are invited to attend the next Kingdom Officers meeting on April 25 '10 starting at 12:00 noon.  All Officers are requested to attend and have a copy of their report ready.  The meeting will be held at the following location. Site Information: 1888 Holland Drive, Walnut Creek.

Directions: Taking Highway 680:

  • Take the GEARY / TREAT ROAD exit (EXIT 48 from either North or South) towards TREAT BOULEVARD
    • This means if coming from the South you need to take the Geary/Treat Road exit, turn left at the bridge over the freeway, go past North Main, and continue (straight) onto Geary ...
    • If coming from the North, once you get to the exit, stay in the right lane until just before the light, then get in the center of the three lanes -- it turns left -- this puts you on North Main in the right-hand lane, turn right on Geary.

In either case, if you find you are on Treat more than a block away from the freeway, you need to turn around and go back ... It's Treat on the "wrong" side of the Freeway, and Geary on the "right" side. (The "right" side has a Chevron at the intersection just past the Freeway, if that helps ...)

  • Take Geary for several miles. You will come to an intersection where Geary becomes Pleasant Hill Road, there is a stop light here. You can go straight to Pleasant Hill Road, Right to Pleasant Hill Road (cute, eh?) or left to Camino Verde. GO LEFT on Camino Verde.
  • Follow Camino Verde for a short distance around past the Palos Verdes mall (it will be on your right), past Pico, to Cayucos/Holland Drive. This will be a right turn (no other choice). Remember the speed limit through here is 25 MPH.
  • You will come to a sign on the left that says "Sky West", continue on Holland Drive past that (the cross street is Huston).
  • You will come to a "T" intersection, if you turn right you will be on Cannon (DON'T!), and if you turn left you will continue on Holland Drive.
  • Follow Holland Drive around a curve, and almost out of the complex. If you get to another Sky West sign, you've gone too far. If you get to the tennis court, you have gone too far. The clubhouse will be on the right. There is a sign that says that it is the clubhouse!

Using Highway 24:

  • CA-24 EAST towards BERKELEY/WALNUT CREEK - go 12.1 mi
  • Take the PLEASANT HILL ROAD (NORTH) exit - go 0.6 mi – make sure you take the NORTH part of the exit.
  • Continue on PLEASANT HILL RD - go 1.9 mi
    • Note: This splits to Taylor and Pleasant Hill Drive. Continue RIGHT on the Pleasant Hill/Geary exit VERY SHORTLY (first exit on right) to:
  • Turn right on HOLLAND DR -- the Club House will be on your left very shortly in (go past the tennis courts ...). There is a sign that says it is the clubhouse.
  • NOTE: If you overshoot Holland Drive  on Geary, continue on Geary, and shortly you will see Huston -- turn right. Go down this until you see the Sky West sign and Holland Drive. Turn right. Follow Holland Drive up to a "T" intersection, to left (going right will take you to "Cannon", which is the wrong street), and follow this up a little ways until you see the Club House on your RIGHT.

Parking:
There is parking at the Clubhouse itself, and there is parking that is marked as "guest" on the street. Please use what you can find. DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET.

Lunch:
The Palos Verdes mall area has the huge Lunardi's grocery store with the deli and all that. There's the Subway in the mall area as well. Going back to North Main on Geary (right by 680) is a Burger King, a Wendy's and a Quizno's; just look around a little.
