Shire of Cloondara (San Francisco, CA)

The Shire of Cloondara invites you to join us at our annual celebrations of mirth, merriment, skills at archery and the Bardic arts in the Archery Range on west end of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on  August 21, 2010.  The site opens at 10 AM.  The favorite novelty target will be chosen and the Archer’s auction begins at 11 AM followed by a novelty shot.  There will also be an IKAC prize competition.

Additionally, the Next Bard of Cloondara will be chosen!  Competitors must perform a bardic entry based upon one of the following:

 1.  Any type of composition in any period style. Please provide background information & documentation.

 2. Any type of composition on the theme of 1001 Arabian Nights. 

We will also have a potluck picnic.  Please bring a dish based on your SCA names:  A‑J side dish or salad, K-R main dish, S‑Z dessert.

Crossbows are not allowed on the field (municipal law). 

There is plenty of parking on Fulton .  If you park by the site, do not park on the grass as you will be ticketed.

Site: Archery range in Golden Gate Park , San Francisco (47th and Fulton ).

From North Bay: From the Golden Gate Bridge , take the 19th Avenue exit (on right 1/4-mile after toll plaza) onto Park Presidio Drive .  Turn right on Fulton . Follow Fulton west and turn left on 47th Ave. The archery field is almost immediately on your left.

From East Bay : Take Hwy 80 west across the Bay Bridge to San Francisco . Continue on Hwy 101 South.  Stay in the right-hand lanes and follow the signs toward the Laguna Street Exit. *

From South Bay :  Take Highway 101 North (Bayshore Freeway). As you approach San Francisco , stay in the left lane towards Laguna Street . *

*Laguna Street will automatically turn left on Fell Street . Follow Fell Street until it splits and turn right onto Stanyan Street . Turn left on Fulton Street . Follow Fulton west until you turn left at 47th Ave.   The archery field is almost immediately on the left.
