Hawks Haven Grand Archery Tourney

Saturday February 11th, 2017
Gilroy, California
Come join the Canton of Hawk's Haven for our Grand Archery Tourney. This year we have a new, larger site! As an outdoor event, please bring day shades, pop-ups and chairs. This will be a day of archery, games, dancing, food and fun! The day’s activities will include the Grand Archery Tournament including 2 Royal Rounds, the Taste of Hawks Haven Siege Cooking Competition. Also the ever popular "Shoot the Barons of Darkwood" novelty shoot is back again!

This is a period or historic archery shoot. Please bring your recurve, long or short bow. Compounds will not be permitted. Arrows must be wooden shafts with feather fletchings. Randal of Camusferna is our archery range master. Scores are eligible for IKAC. This tournament is open to non-members as well.

Grand Archery Tournament: Pre-Registration and Day of Registration available. This year to keep up with the great number of archers who come from all over the West to participate, there will be pre-registration to allow for a quicker start to the tourney! Participants who pre-register will be placed in the first few rounds. Email the autocrat to pre-register.

This year we will be hosting a thrown weapons range as well! Come learn how to throw various weapons of medieval destruction, such as axes, knives and other medieval implements of death! Minor's must be accompanied by parents. Art MacOrm is our thrown weapons range master.

Speaking of which, have you ever wanted to shoot a landed noble? Now is your chance! Once again we bring you "Shoot the Barons of Darkwood" Novelty Shoot. This is a donation novelty shoot with combat archery equipment. Come donate your arrows (and your bills) to take aim at the current and former barons of Darkwood!

All proceeds go directly to the Baronial Archery fund, for the upkeep of the archery equipment so that this can continue.

Members of the Barony of Darkwood may shoot for the coveted "Hood" and become a member of the Baronial Company of Archers. Member of the Great Unwashed may compete with permission from their Excellencies, Brid & Jarrod.

As always we will have 'A Taste of Hawks Haven' Period Cooking Competition. Contribute to the bounty of the Taste of Hawks Haven, our annual cooking competition. This year we are having a siege cooking competition. Bring 10 of your own favorite ingredients and your cooking gear. We will provide you with a bag of secret ingredients and empty stomachs! The best dish will win two tickets to the Barony of Darkwood’s White Shield Feast. Teams may be up to 6 people and must preregister.

This year we will be at a new site to accomodate the growing participation! This is a working alpaca farm, so this is a no-dogs site.
