Sunday, March 3rd the Shire of Canale will be having 3 guest teachers who are members of the Back Country Horsemen's Mid-Valley Unit and extremely experienced packers and back country campers. http://www.bchcmidvalley.org/
Starting at 10 am, they will be giving an introductory class on modern packing skills with hands on pack application practice and lots of chances to ask questions. We bring the history; they bring the practical experience.
This class is a one time offering in the West Kingdom. If you want to learn the information, be there. Loaner equids will be available to learn about packs and load distribution. Come and get hands on experience!
There is no fee to attend. If you bring an equid, there is a $10 Haul in fee payable to Double N Ranch.
Back Country Horseman is a fantastic organization that works on preserving access and usability of trails on public lands. They also put on packing seminars, rides and rendezvous for their members. For those in Caid, similar information (and more!) will be presented at their State Rendezvous in Norco at the end of March (not an SCA event).
When the Class is complete, the arena will be open for riding and fighting and we will of course have an end of the day potluck lunch.
