Ducal Prize (West Kingdom / KHTI)

Friday September 2nd, 2016 to Monday September 5th, 2016
Nevada City, California

Come join us at Ducal Prize as the West Kingdom and the Kingdom Historical Trust Inc. (KHTI) celebrate owning our new permanent site. While this year's Ducal Prize is not held on our new site, the money raised will go towards developing and maintaining it. As Ducal Prize is jointly sponsored by the West Kingdom and KHTI, be prepared to sign an event-specific waiver.

By tradition we will kick-off Friday evening with the Special Request Bardic. The rest of the weekend will be filled with games for kids and adults, armored combat, rapier combat, bardic, auctions, raffles, a casbah, and the famous Ducal garage sale. For more information on activities watch the Facebook event page (https://goo.gl/kzUdYk).

Donations (physical or promissory) for the casbah, auction, and garage sale are welcome. If you have any questions about whether an item would make a good donation or for drop-off locations, please contact the Event Autocrat.

With year's site there are a couple things to be aware of. First the site is full of trees, which means there will be plenty of shade and cooler temperatures; however it also means that tents and pavilions with larger footprints may have trouble finding space between the trees to set up. Second, the site is a campground, not fairgrounds; there are stone privies and showers (coin operated), but there is also wildlife and raccoons will enjoy your food for you if it is accessible.

Additionally due to rules of the campground the number of vehicles we are allowed is limited and the KHTI will be charged for additional vehicles. As such we requesting for people to please carpool and to bring a vehicle pulling a trailer rather than two vehicles.
