Spring Equestrian Event

SITE INFORMATION:

Bar SZ Ranch (http://www.barszranch.com/) is a working ranch with over 600 acres to enjoy nestled the Pinnacles. The site is about 30-45 minutes from Hollister. The site will open at 12:00 noon on Friday and will close at 4:00pm on Sunday. The site has a lighted arena, round pens, a large outdoor arena and a network of trails and trail obstacles that can accommodate a variety of horse and rider skills. There will also be an archery and thrown weapons range available. Camping (tent and RV) space is available at no additional charge. RV Camping is “dry” so no water/sewer hookups but access to electricity is available. There is a HUGE barbeque grill available for use as well as a large concrete pas suitable for feast table set up. There are ten (10) stalls available for use for a small fee) as well as several LARGE pastures for horses that can hang out together (also for a small fee). Stall and pasture reservation requests will need to be received NO LATER than April 5, 2015. Portable stalls and enclosures are allowed on site as well so if you have one please feel free to bring it. Please note that cell phone reception is not great (unless you have Verizon) at the ranch. WiFi can be accessed however near the guest houses.

CLASSES, RIDES & WORKSHOPS:

We are offering a wide variety of classes for the equestrian and non-equestrian alike. Archery, Rapier, Arts & Sciences, Armored Combat and other topics will be covered in the classes and workshops. There are also classes on horses and horsemanship in the context of the SCA as well for the beginner to advance rider! Open rides all day! POTLUCK FEAST:

Bring a dish to share! We’ll dine under the stars and enjoy the fellowship of good friends! There is a HUGE barbecue that is available for use. Stay tuned for more information!

CAMPING:

Ample camping space is available! Standard West Kingdom fire laws are in effect. The site has flush privies. Stay tuned for more details as the event date gets closer.

Directions: Take your best route to San Benito County Fairgrounds (Tres Pinos). Continue on CA-25/Airline Hwy for approximately 24 miles. Turn left onto Old Hernandez Rd/San Benito Lateral. Road turns into Willow Creek after 3/4 mile. Continue for approximately 2 more miles. Site will be on the right.  Keep your eyes peeled for SCA signs.
