Midsummer Tourney and Demo at the Fair Province of Southern Shores (San Jose, CA)

The province of Southern Shores invites all Heavy and Rapier fighters, Archers and Artisans to its Midsummer Tourney and Demo at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. The Tourney will be on Saturday August 4th.

Armor inspection starts at 11:00 a.m. Fighting is to commence at 12:00 noon - SCA time.

It will be a mad dog style tourney where each entrant gets 2 lives. Once those lives are expended, the fighter may buy themselves back in with a cost based on their order of precedence. Viewers may also buy a fighter back in. The winner with the most victories gets to select a charity from a pre-determined list. A portion of all proceeds will be retained by Southern Shores for future events with the remainder going to the selected charity.

For Archers, we will have targets available. For Artisans, we will have a covered area for your displays, works-in-progress, etc. Note: the Fair has opened its judging competitions to adults again, so please go to www.Thefair.org and select "Santa Clara County Fair" for more information if you should care to enter your artwork, weaving, pottery, etc.

After a full day of fun, SoShores will be hosting a non-period BBQ of Chicken and Hamburgers. Please feel free to bring something to share.

On Sunday August 5th we will be hosting a fighter practice.
All fighters and Artisans are welcome to join us on both or either days.

All SCA-folk in attendance of the Tourney and Demo will be provided with a parking pass available at gate C (This is the first gate to the right of the arches at the main gate on Tully). When you enter Identify yourself as SCA and you are in. We have the large grass area right next to the parking lot.
